Call for Candidates – Elections in November

Members, residents, neighbors;

As president, I can say that we've been blessed this year to have a nearly full contingent of board members who have been working diligently to fulfill the mission, objectives and goals of EVNA on behalf of members and residents of the city's longest running neighborhood association.

Serving our neighborhood is a privilege and honor, and the rewards are obvious and many. Each member forges deeper relationships as they work closely with other board members and volunteers who are as committed to our neighborhood as they are. The knowledge and skills so graciously shared among our board members makes each of us wiser and smarter than before we joined. Our service is also a conscious  investment in the continuation of the Castro/Eureka Valley's unique character and our historical place within the larger network of neighborhoods in the city. And most importantly, service on the EVNA board is a testament to our belief in personal responsibility in our legacy as a community.

This November, we are seeking a few good souls to join our board. We seek a handful of selfless, generous and passionate people who are willing to step up and take an active role among a team of passionate people. Are you willing to join us?

The following positions are open for new candidates to consider:

  • Vice President (new)
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Board Members At Large (up to 5)

As a board, we welcome all qualified candidates, and our arms are especially wide open for candidates who are willing to bring to the table their diverse experiences and unique perspectives, and are willing to add their voices to our collective song.

Calling interested candidates now. You must live within the Eureka Valley boundaries and be an active member of EVNA to run for election. If you are interested and want to know more, please give me a call or drop me an email (415.735.8037 or mark.mchale@evna.org). You can also check out our newly updated ByLaws under the "About" tab above.  I'll be happy to discuss details, position responsibilities and expectations.

Elections will be held at our November general meeting.
