Thanks to all who made it out for our July meeting this past weekend! We shifted to our new location at the Rec Center, due to the improvements being made at the Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy.
We have a new round of Castro Welcome Packets to deliver between now and August 9, 2019. There was a larger than expected number of new people moving into the EVNA footprint- over 300 new neighbors versus about 200 in the first quarter of this year. The addresses have been parsed and grouped into routes of 10-15 homes, and we passed out most to volunteers for delivery at the meeting.
We could use another 4-6 volunteers to help with our deliveries- it's been a really fun way to help newbie's feel welcome, and I guarantee you'll finish with a big smile on your face and a fullness in your heart.
Also- you're invited to the New Neighbor's/Member's Mixer next Saturday, August 10th from 10am to 11:30am at the SparkArts Gallery on 18th Street next to Mollie Stone. Join us for coffee and pastries. It's a great way to meet our new neighbors and say hello to old friends!
I want to let everyone know that Board elections are coming up in November, so if you're thinking of running for office, now is the time to throw your name in the ring. Send me your name and contact information, a little about yourself, and a few lines about how you'd like to help EVNA continue in its mission.
Our next board meeting is Tuesday, Aug 13, 7pm to 8:30 at the Chase Bank on Sanchez and 15th, and our next general meeting is September 25th at 7pm at the Eureka Valley Rec Center. Until then, I hope to see you around the neighborhood!
